CONTROL BOX, BUZZER AND LED VISUAL DISPLAY
The LED display and the Buzzer are two features in the Reverse
Distance Detector or RDD systems. The display is a visual
representation of the distance from the obstacle to the rear of the
vehicle. The LED display gives three colors representing distance:
green, yellow, red. The closer you are to an obstacle, the more the
lights will shift from green to red. Getting too close will turn on the
red lights. The two extra lights on the display indicates whether the
obstacle is on the left or right rear side of your car. The buzzer is
measured by frequency: the closer you are to an obstacle, the
faster it will beep. When your vehicle gets too close, the tone
becomes a continuous beep. When shifting into reverse gear, the
display will flash two lights and the buzzer will beep once to tell you it
is functioning. The Buzzer is included in all models. The LED visual
Display is optional.
The control box is the core of the Reverse Distance Detector. This
box is a microcomputer that connects the detectors, buzzer and
display together. Attached to the buzzer is a wire that taps into the
reverse light circuit to power the control box. When you switch to
the reverse gear, the RDD automatically turns on. The control box
is included in all models.
CHECKLIST BEFORE YOU ORDER!!!
As one of our customers, we want you to be fully satisfied with your
order of the Reverse Distance Detector. We have provided a
checklist to help you through the order.
1) Please make sure you know what model you want. Models are
separated by:
*the number of sensors(2,3 or 4), type (ex. AW-20E0) and color.
*whether you want a visual display or not
*whether you want the PRO, STICK ON or TRUCK series.
2) Please be sure you know where you want your RDD to be
installed on the rear of your vehicle. The detectors need to be 18"
to 30" off of the ground for it to work properly. Also, it is essential
that the detectors are facing 90 degrees perpendicular to the
ground. We also have custom sensors with a 5 or 12 degree
spacer that can adapt to the curvature of your bumper.
